Keep Giving Your All

I love when God talks to me in my sleep. That’s when I know He wants me to really get it. Like, “Don’t say anything Deven. Just listen.”

This entire week was an emotional struggle because I have a lot on my plate. I know I’m not the only one who feels that way. But this morning, I’m at peace. Here’s why: I gave it my all.

We don’t know all the plans God has for us. HE does. When things go left on us instead of right, we can trust that it’s because of His plans of peace and good toward us. We can trust He is keeping His word to protect us from evil and harm. We can sleep well at night knowing we gave it our all. We did our best, and He is handling the rest.

To make it personal: God gave me a glimpse inside of myself. I am not a half-hearted person. What I want, I want with everything in me. What I don’t, I don’t. Everything I do, even when I’m at my worst and completely worn out, I give it my all. I strive for excellence and aim for the best results. Yes, I have made a lot of mistakes. Yes, I have seen a lot of things I gave my all to fail. New ideas, businesses, personal goals, relationships… When I watched the things I gave my all to crumble, I felt it deeply BECAUSE I gave it my all. I asked what I could, should, and would have done differently. I cried real tears. I pointed the finger at myself and said, “You should have given it MORE! MORE THAN YOUR ALL!”

I mean, things we give our all to should work out, right? Not necessarily. Not when God can see what we can’t. We can’t see the end from the start. He can. He knows where we’re headed. He knows what the next season of our lives needs…and what it doesn’t. So, whatever it is, if you gave it your all, be at peace. God has a way of making it all make sense later. Keep moving forward. Have no regrets. And… Keep giving your all.
